Special
educational students take part in bowling tournament
The
16th annual Special Education Bowling Tournament was held on March
16. Special Education programs from Oakhurst, Coarsegold and Mariposa
entered into the fun at Sierra Lanes.
This year’s students Hannah Kincaid and Jessica Silva, of YHS, organized
the tournament as their senior project.
One hundred students attended the event — kids playing in the morning
and adults in the afternoon. Ribbons were passed out at the end of
both sessions to congratulate each child or adult on playing his/her
best game of bowling.
The ribbons were distributed by the teaching assistants of YHS, who
came to help with the tournament.
Jennie McClellan was the recipient of the Kenny Miller Award this
year. A student at YHS, Jennie loves to bowl. She is a very enthusiastic
student and an exceptional bowler. She was very proud to have received
this award.
Hannah Kincaid and Jessica Silva give special thanks to Lori Blate,
the teaching assistants, Sierra Lanes, Round Table and all of the
parents and other people that attended.
Hannah and Jessica said it was a wonderful experience for both of
them as well as the kid and added that they would do it again any
day.
