place at skills challenge

at the Regional Occupational Program 2005 Career Skills Challenge,

Seven
Yosemite High School students came home with medals from the Regional
Occupational Program (ROP) 2005 Career Skills Challenge held recently
at Fresno City College. Thirty-seven schools participated from the
Sierra, Sequoia and Yosemite leagues. YHS is in the Sequoia League.
A team of four students from the criminal justice class took second
place in the crime scene investigation contest. They are Dallas Pelissero,
Amy Stillman, Hannah Cossa and Melissa Andrews. Jennifer Munn was
the team back-up should any of the others been unable to participate.
Madera County Sheriff's Deputy Roy Broomfield teaches the class.
John Miles took second in welding competition and Cole McIntosh took
third. Joe Mahle is their instructor.
Jon Tracy brought home a third place medal in drafting. His instructor
is Mike Sommerfield.
Twenty students from YHS competed in CSI, welding, drafting and auto.
