FFA
feeds bus drivers
SUBMITTED BY KAITI SIMMS
The
Yosemite Future Farmers of America suited up on Saturday, Jan. 15,
to feed more than 500 school bus drivers from all over California.
Preparations for this event began the day before, when the FFA worked
with staff in the Yosemite High School cafeteria. Early Saturday morning,
FFA students were busily preparing salad, garlic bread and beans and
barbecuing pork roasts for a delicious lunch for all participating
in the bus driver in-service.
For several years, Yosemite High School has played host for this statewide
bus driver’s event, and the Yosemite FFA has made the lunch-time meal.
Bus drivers attended classes relating to all possible scenarios with
their job, from emergency procedures to how to deal with extreme behaviors.
The coals later died down, the cake was cut and the last dish was
washed. All of that concluded another successful year of participation
for the Yosemite FFA in the annual bus driver in-service.
