Yosemite
High School drama student honored

Yosemite
High School junior Korina Gutierrez received a prestigious award at
the Mother Lode Drama Festival held in Sutter Creek. She earned the
“Outstanding Actress in a Play” award.
This was given for her work as a wacky psychologist in the comedy
“Pillow Talk.” Korina was elated with the honor and thanked her fellow
cast members for all of their hard work.
Ten YHS students participated in the festival, which included 20 schools
from central and northern California.
“Pillow Talk” may be seen during Yosemite High School’s Short Attention
Span Festival, when the students will put on 14 plays that are all
from five to 15 minutes long.
This event will be in the Yosemite Performing Arts Center on Saturday,
May 14, and Sunday, May 15, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5.
