Adult education classes begin in October
Knitting, crocheting class begins Sept. 29

A Basic Knitting and Crocheting class will begin Wednesday, Sept. 29 and continue through Nov. 3 from 6-9 p.m. in Room 23 at Yosemite High School. This five-week class is for the beginning and intermediate student. Students will learn basic stitches and how to read simple patterns. Each student will be given a choice of projects to complete.

Adult education classes begin in October

Beginning Excel will start Saturday, Oct. 2, and continue Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon in Computer Lab 31 at Yosemite High School; cost is $20.

This two-week class will introduce students to various spreadsheet commands.

They will also learn to set up basic spreadsheets using mathematical formulas as well as graphic features of a spreadsheet.

Fast Internet will meet Tuesdays, Oct. 5 and 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. in YHS Computer Lab 31; cost is $20.

This two week class will cover high speed Internet and how to protect oneself against common Internet threats.

The class will also be held at Foothill High School on Yosemite Springs Parkway in Coarsegold Saturdays, Oct. 2 and 9, from 9 a.m. to noon; cost is $20.

Beginning Windows XP will meet Thursdays, Oct. 7 and 14, in YHS Computer Lab 31 from 6 to 9 p.m.; cost is $20.

This two-week seminar will teach beginning students how to use Windows XP.

Beginning Access will meet Saturdays, Oct. 16 and 23, from 9 a.m. to noon in YHS Computer Lab 31; cost is $20. This class will cover database fundamentals using Microsoft Access. Students will learn to create databases, forms and merge a Microsoft Word letter with Microsoft Access database and reports.

Jump Start Office 2000 will be held Mondays, Oct. 8 through Dec. 13, in YHS Computer Lab 31 from 6 to 9 p.m.; cost is $35.

This eight-week class will concentrate on using all the programs in Office 2000.

The class will include two weeks of Word, two weeks of Excel, two weeks of Access and two weeks of Power Point.

This class is designed for the beginning student.

Intermediate Adobe Photoshop CS will meet Mondays, Oct. 18 through Nov. 15, in Computer Lab 32 at YHS from 6 to 9 p.m.; cost is $30. Students must have a basic knowledge of Photoshop.

This five week class will teach students about retouching and repairing, painting and editing, color images, basic pen tool techniques, vector masks, paths, shapes and advanced layer techniques.

Intermediate Adobe Illustrator CS will meet Tuesdays from Oct. 19 through Nov. 16 in YHS Computer Lab 32 from 6 to 9 p.m.; cost is $30.
This five-week class will teach students how to transform objects, work with type, blend shapes and colors, use appearance attributes, styles and effects and work with layers.
