Dear Editor:
The Yosemite
Union High School District is pleased to open a long-awaited swim
complex for Eastern Madera County and all of the mountain communities
we serve. This swim complex has a storage capacity of 500,000 gallons
of water.
Yosemite High School is a committed community member and that 500,000
gallons of water is there, not only for everyone’s swimming enjoyment,
but also acting as a reservoir for fire suppression, if needed.
This source of water is easily accessible by helicopter and/or tanker
truck and is a very necessary resource in the event of an emergency.
The high school is undergoing many upgrades and renovations at this
time, and during all of these activities the needs of our students
as well as our mountain neighbors are kept well at the forefront
of our considerations.
We look forward to soon sharing the many avenues of enjoyment found
on the school campus with all of you, appreciate your understanding
and hope you will join us in looking forward to working together
on how to best use our campus functions and activities to everyone’s
benefit.
Bill McCabe,
Superintendent
Priscilla Pike,
Board President
