The huge band room occupies one half of the new, state-of-the-art
Music Building on the YHS campus. The facility will be officially
dedicated Thursday, January 15 at 7 p.m. in a special ceremony.
An open house
for the new music building at Yosemite High School will be held
Thursday, January 15, at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend
and tour the new building.
There will be a short presentation by YHS music students. Information
will also be available on the performing arts center that will be
renovated in the near future. The former music and drama building
will be turned into a 400-seat performing arts center. The new building
opened for classes January 5.
The 4,000 square-foot music building has two classrooms.
It is part of the construction project at YHS that started in 1999
after voters approved an $11.76 million bond. The district has recently
received an additional funds from the statewide school construction
bond.
The open house will be hosted by YHS Principal Steve Raupp, choir
director Dr. Tony Mowrer and band director Randy Hyatt.
The new building is located at the back end of the campus near the
intersection of Road 427 and Road 428.
