The huge band room occupies one half of the new, state-of-the-art Music Building on the YHS campus. The facility will be officially dedicated Thursday, January 15 at 7 p.m. in a special ceremony.

An open house for the new music building at Yosemite High School will be held Thursday, January 15, at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend and tour the new building.

There will be a short presentation by YHS music students. Information will also be available on the performing arts center that will be renovated in the near future. The former music and drama building will be turned into a 400-seat performing arts center. The new building opened for classes January 5.

The 4,000 square-foot music building has two classrooms.

It is part of the construction project at YHS that started in 1999 after voters approved an $11.76 million bond. The district has recently received an additional funds from the statewide school construction bond.

The open house will be hosted by YHS Principal Steve Raupp, choir director Dr. Tony Mowrer and band director Randy Hyatt.

The new building is located at the back end of the campus near the intersection of Road 427 and Road 428.
