The Yosemite FFA boosters will hold their first dinner, dance and
auction on Saturday, May 22, to help raise money for the Future
Farmers of America organization at Yosemite High School. Doors will
open 5:30 p.m. at the Oakhurst Community Center, and the dinner
will be served at 7 p.m.
The meal will consist of tri-tip, seasoned red potatoes, green beans,
salad and garlic bread.
For a donation of $25, a ticket will include the dinner, two ducats
for beverages, and dancing.
In the early evening there will be a country photo setting and pictures
will be taken by Heidi’s Photos for a $5 donation. An auction and
drawings will also take place.
Country music will be provided by “Wild Card” with a splash of good
time Rock ‘n’ Roll. Tickets may be purchased at the Oakhurst Beauty
Supply, Heidi’s Photo and Yosemite Lumber Company.
Funds realized will help with travel expenses for field trips, competitions
and financial assistance on FFA projects, supplies, scholarships
and much more.
The FFA organization gives back to the community in many ways. Heritage
Days, Showcase of Schools and the Cystic Fibrosis Walk-a-Thon are
only a few.
By enjoying a night of good food and dancing, participants can show
support for the kids of our community.
Those interested in making a donation or contributing an item for
the auction, as soon as possible, may call Sheila Page at (559)
683-0277 or Lori Plumb at (559) 642-6210.
