Computer, healthy cooking class at Adult Ed

Three classes will begin this month through Yosemite Adult Education. All will be held on the Yosemite High School campus in Oakhurst.

• Macromedia Dream-weaver MX — Starts Tuesday, April 22, and continues through May 20 from 6-9 p.m. in Computer Lab 32; cost is $30. This software combines visual layout tools with text-base HTML editing features for the creation, management and maintenance of Web sites. It gives beginners immediate access to the tools needed for creating Web pages, while allowing experienced developers who are familiar with hand-coding to work directly with the code when needed.

• Advanced Adobe Photoshop 7.0 — Starts Monday, April 28, and continues through June 2 from 6-9 p.m. in Computer Lab 32; cost is $30. A basic knowledge of Photoshop is required for this class. This five-week class will teach setting up the monitor for color management, producing and printing consistent color, optimizing images for the Web, creating Web graphics using slices and rollovers and creating animated images for the Web.

• Cooking for Healthy Weight Loss (That Is Not Fat Free) — Will meet Monday, April 28, from 6-8 p.m. in Building 300 (home economics classroom); cost is $20. Dr. Art Capperauld will teach students how to cook a meal in approximately 30 minutes that is fun and easy but also tastes good and is good for you. Students will learn what makes a healthy recipe and how to choose them. Students will eat the meal they prepare.
