Yosemite High School students and their parents will have an opportunity
to learn about opportunities after high school during the Post Graduate
Planning Night to be held Wednesday, October 1, from 7-9 p.m. in
the YHS gym.
This program is for all students, grades 9-12, and their parents.
Each person will be able to attend three different workshops during
the evening.
Workshops recommended for all grades are: University of California
System; California State University System; Community College System;
Private College System; Vocational Schools; US Military; Tests,
Tests and More Tests; Career Center Tour; Show Me the Money!; and
Financial Aid.
The International Baccalau-reate (IB) workshop is recommended for
grades nine and 10. There is a workshop for Junior IB candidates
and another one for Senior IB candidates.
A seniors-only workshop entitled The Nuts and Bolts of Your Senior
Year is geared for seniors who plan to go a four-year college right
out of high school.
There will be a workshop for student athletes who plan to participate
at the intercollegiate level. The NCAA Clearing House presentation
will cover eligibility standards that must be met by student athletes
in high school in order to qualify for NCAA (National Collegiate
Athletic Association) competition.
In addition to YHS staff members, there will be college representatives,
military personnel and financial advisors at the workshop to talk
to the students and their parents.
