Alexia Montagnoli of Oakhurst will compete in Miss Jr. Teen Fresno City pageant next week.

Alexia (Lexi) Montagnoli, an Oakhurst resident and a student at Yosemite High School, was recently selected to participate in Nationals 2003 Miss Jr. Teen Fresno City pageant.

The competition will take place on February 23. Prior to her acceptance, Lexi submitted an application and took part in an interview session conducted by Patty Neidert, this year’s Fresno City Pageant coordinator.

Lexi will compete for her share of more than $20,000 in scholarships, prizes and specialty gifts. She will be competing in the Miss Jr. Teen division, one of three divisions that will have young ladies between the ages of 10 and 19.

They will demonstrate modeling routines for both casual and formal wear. The contestants are also judged on personality during all phases of the competition.

The pageant will begin at 4 p.m. at the Tower Theater located at 814 East Olive in Fresno.

Should Lexi win the title of Miss Jr. Teen Fresno City, she will represent Fresno City and the surrounding communities at the national competition in an expense-paid trip of five nights and six days in Orlando, Florida.

In her spare time Lexi enjoys dancing, reading and her friends. Any business, organization or private individual who would like to help sponsor Lexi may contact her at 1-888-236-7011. Through sponsorship she receives all the necessary training, rehearsals and financial support to help her be confident and well-prepared for the pageant.
