KAAT Radio celebrates 22nd year with Badgers

KAAT Radio, FM 103.1 with a translator frequency at 104.3 has announced plans to broadcast the Yosemite High School Badgers, 2003 championship team in the Sequoia league division. Station Manager Larry Gamble announced this is the 22nd consecutive season for Badger broadcasts. The first 2003 season game will air Friday night at 7:30 p.m. on September 5. These weekly broadcasts have been a favorite for listeners in this small mountain community and throughout the central valley since 1982.

Play-by-play action will be described by a veteran announcer of Badger broadcasts, Jason Anaforian. Jason is associate announcer for the Fresno Grizzlies. Assisting Jason with color commentary will be Matt Davidson, also associated with the Grizzlies as a studio engineer working out of KAAT’s Fresno studio.

KAAT Radio operates on 103.1 kHz with a translator serving selected mountain areas at 104.3. They also broadcast on Channel 13 on Northland Cable and on the World Wide Web at broadcastmonsters.com. The Badgers will play against various high schools including Firebaugh, Oakdale, Kerman, Ridgeview, Sierra, Selma, San Joaquin, Dos Palos and Kingsburg. All broadcasts begin at 7:30 p.m. each Friday through November. Playoff broadcasts will be announced as scheduled.
