Karen Boortz wins Supreme Champion Market Lamb at the Chowchilla-Madera County Fair.

Heather Plumb wins Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb at the recent Chowchilla-Madera County Fair. She was also recently elected as the next YHS FFA president.

Yosemite FFA and Coarsegold 4-H attended the 2003 Chowchilla-Madera County Fair held May 15-17 and came home champions. Karen Boortz received Supreme Champion Market Lamb and Heather Plumb received Reserve Champion Market Lamb. Bridget Oltsen, Yosemite FFA, earned Reserve Suffix X Champion, along with an eighth place in FFA Advanced Showmanship. Amy Rohrig, Yosemite FFA, received Champion Dorset Market Lamb. Clayton Gambril of Coarsegold 4-H earned his way through a first place in Junior Sheep Showmanship, which advanced him into Intermed-iate. Clayton also received a Reserve Supreme Champion Market Steer. Alex Plumb of Coarsegold earned a Champion 4-H Feeder Steer. Kimberlee Youman of Yosemite FFA won her class and earned the FFA Reserve Champion Duroc Market Swine. Others showing from Yosemite FAA were Castin Ecklund, Crystal Hubbard, Nick Burkett, Stacy Weseman, and Hollie Shreve. Also showing from Coarsegold 4-H were Cody Gambril, Robert Zimmerman, Steven Zimmerman, Paul Boortz, Taylor Williamson, Kaiti Simms, and Jessica Gambril. All animals show were chosen as First Choice Market Ready.
