A
cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid course will be
held at Yosemite High School Monday, November 17, and Tuesday, November
18, from 6-10 p.m.; cost is $25. This course includes lecture, demonstration
and mannequin practice and testing.

Adult Education

A variety of
technology classes will be offered through Yosemite Adult Education

One class will be held at Foothill High School on Yosemite Springs
Parkway in Coarsegold. All of the others will be held at Yosemite
High School in Oakhurst.
The course at Foothill High School is Beginning Windows which starts
Thursday, November 6 and continues November 13 from 6-9 p.m.; cost
is $20. This two-day seminar will teach the beginning student how
to use Windows 98.
The following classes will be held at Yosemite High School:
Print Shop meets Tuesday, November 4, from 6-9
p.m. in Computer Lab 32; cost is $20. The class will teach students
how to create greeting cards, signs, banners, letterheads and calendars.
Introduction to the Internet will meet Saturday,
November 15, from 9 a.m. to noon in Computer Lab 32; cost is $20.
Students will learn how to get into the Internet and how to search
for a topic. They will also learn about e-mail.
Advanced Adobe Photoshop 7.0 starts Monday, November
17, and continues through December 15 from 6-9 p.m. in Computer
Lab 32; cost is $30. A prerequisite for the class is a basic knowledge
of Photoshop. This five-week course will teach setting up the monitor
for color management, producing and printing consistent color, optimizing
images for the web, creating web graphics using slices and rollovers,
and creating animated images for the web.
Macromedia Dreamweaver MX (Part 3), Web Page Design, starts
Tuesday, November 18, and continues through December 16 from 6-9
p.m. in Computer Lab 32; cost is $30. Macromedia’s Dreamweaver MX
combines visual layout tools with text-base HTML edition features
for the creation, management and maintenance of Web sites. It gives
immediate access to the tools needed for creating Web pages while
allowing experienced developers who are familiar with hand-coding
to work directly with the code when needed.
