Ahwahnee High School students Christina Smith, a junior, and Eddy Schwartz, a senior, have been named Ahwahnee High School students of the semester.

Christina Smith, a junior, and Eddy Schwartz, a senior, were named Ahwahnee High School students of the semester recently for the fall of 2002.

Brenna Neely, AHS teacher, said the two were recognized for their excellent attitude, sense of humor, empathy, excellent attendance, self-motivation and academic perseverance. Mrs. Neely noted that both students are at AHS voluntarily because they like the consistency of the program.

In addition to attending AHS, both students also take classes at Yosemite High School. Christina is a teacher's assistant and is enrolled in an art class. Eddy is a teacher’s assistant for two periods at YHS.

Eddy was a member of the alternative education Mock Trial team this year. He has already signed up to enlist in the United States Navy after he graduates from AHS.
