YHS invites volunteers to assist during tight times

The Yosemite Joint Union High School District is seeking volunteers who would be willing to spend a few hours each month photocopying materials for district staff.

District Superintendent Bill McCabe says staff members are currently spending several hours a month copying such materials as information packets for the board of trustees, accounts payable statements and packets for students and their parents.

“In these tight fiscal times, it would be a tremendous help to our staff if volunteers were available to help with this work,” he says.

The need is for volunteers who would be available on an on-call basis with a day or two-advance notice to spend a few hours using the photocopy machine. Everyone who is on the school campus must be fingerprinted and undergo a background check. This would be done at the district's expense.

Mr. McCabe said it would be ideal if three or four people were available so no one person would have to work very many hours.

Anyone who is interested is asked to call Earlene Ward at 683-8801 extension 338 to leave their name and telephone number.
