A theft was recently discovered at Yosemite High School,
with varsity and junior varsity baseball equipment having been stolen.
“This is disgusting,” says head baseball coach George
McWherter.
It appears that the equipment may have been taken sometime
between December and January.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Department says that the theft
was reported on Tuesday, February 19. The exact total value of the items was
$12,329.35.
“We lost four new bats, and our uniforms and jackets are
gone,” says Mr. McWherter. The junior
varsity equipment was totally wiped out.
“The person who did it did not break into the shed that had
the broken equipment. He knew where the good equipment was located,” says Mr.
McWherter.
The Sheriff’s Department is actively investigating the
incident.
