All’s ready for Sober Grad party

Gary Pilcher, California Highway Patrol public affairs officer, and Sheriff’s Deputy Roy Broomfield, Yosemite High School resource officer, look over some of the items that will be raffled off at YHS’s Sober Grad party on Wednesday, June 12, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Thursday, June 13.

 

The 2002 Yosemite High School Sober Grad All-Night Party will take place at Sierra Lanes, Wednesday, June 12, following the graduation ceremonies.

The party is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. Wednesday and last until 5 a.m. Thursday, with gates closing at midnight.

 

Food, fun for grads

This event is free to the YHS graduating class of 2002. Seniors may bring one guest, who must be signed up and pay their $10 in the Student Store by Tuesday, June 11th,

This year’s activities include Sumo Wrestling, Contortion, Adrenaline Rush, rock climbing, hula contest, casino games, bowling, dancing, billiards, arcade, prizes and much, much more.

This year’s Grand Prize, a 1989 Toyota Camry, donated by Madera Auto Mall, will be given to some lucky YHS Senior who is in attendance at 5 a.m..

 

Even more prizes!

Other prizes include mini-refrigerator/freezer, microwave, television-video cassette recor­der, vacuum cleaner, small appliances, automotive services, amusement park passes and computer package.

Also, a bicycle, hockey passes, salon services, entertainment certificates, cash prizes and more.

Food will be provided throughout the evening, with breakfast being served in the early hours of the morning.

 

Can still donate

Donations and prizes are still being accepted, and volunteers are needed to decorate and set up for “Tropical Paradise.”

Anyone with beach umbrellas, cabanas and other beach decorations, please call.

“We thank our community for their continued support of our youth, and in helping to make this a safe, successful event for our graduating class,” says Linda Heinbach, chairman of the Sober Grad committee.
