YHS Senior Projects needs volunteers

Senior Project presentations:

Tuesday, May 28, -Thursday, May 30;

3 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at Yosemite High School.

The Yosemite High School Class of 2002 is in need of volunteers to view the presentation of Senior Projects. Anyone interested in serving on these review boards is asked to contact Kay Tarr at 683-4667 ext. 271.

The Senior Project presentations will be Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, May 30 from 3-6:30 p.m. at Yosemite High School. The seniors make their formal presentation before a panel of four volunteers, including teachers, staff members, community members and parents. There are several panels each day to accommodate the entire senior class. Mrs. Tarr says there is a need for 200 to 300 volunteers.

The Senior Project includes a resume, business letter, research paper, reflective paper, a minimum of 24 hours of project activity and a cumulative portfolio, in addition to the formal 10-minute presentation.

In past years, Senior Projects have included such things as producing the Sound of Music with a student cast, helping with the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, writing a grant application, planning a trip to Europe, learning ballroom dancing, learning to play the piano, organizing fundraisers, and learning how to be an athletic trainer.

Those interested in helping need to let Mrs. Tarr know their name, address, telephone number and the day or days they can serve.
