Financial aid workshop at YHS

If you are planning or even thinking of attending a vocational/trade school or two- or four-year college, plan to attend the Financial Aid Workshop presented by the Yosemite High School Guidance Department.

The event takes place on Wednesday, December 11 at 7 p.m. in the YHS Library. It is designed for all high school seniors and their parents.

Financial Aid Specialist Bernie Ogden, from Fresno Pacific College, will take parents step-by-step through the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form for the 2002/2003 school year.

To be eligible for any financial aid (non-repayable federal and state grants, loans, work-study and non-repayable grants or loans from the college or university), parents must complete the FAFSA and G.P.A. verification forms.

Keep in mind that aid isn’t always based on income cut-offs, You may be a two-parent family with both parents working and still be eligible for aid. There are several factors taken into consideration, such as number of people in the family, number of students in college and the age of the parents. Every family should apply and it is recommended that the financial aid workshop not be missed.
