Strict dress code for high school

Yosemite High School

When Yosemite High School opens for classes August 19, a strict enforcement policy will be in place for the student dress code.

Principal Steve Raupp says there will be increased personnel on campus to identify students who are in violation of the code.

Those students who are dressed contrary to the code will be taken to the office to call their parents. The parents will need to pick up their student and take them home to change into appropriate attire.

The second time a student violates the dress code, they will be suspended for one day for defiance of authority.

“The dress code has been a continuing issue for us and this year we will make every effort to enforce it,” Mr. Raupp says.

He notes that it is important that students dress appropriately to insure a positive learning environment.

The student dress code is included in the student-parent handbook that is provided to all students. Anyone who would like a copy of the code can call 683-4667 and leave their name and address.

The dress code is also posted on the district’s Web site at http://www.yosemiteuhsd.com/.
