Jennifer Kurtley, graduate of Yosemite High School’s Class of 2002, is thrilled with having won this 2002 Kia Rio during the Sober Grad party.

A brand-new, 2002 Kia Rio was given away to lucky Yosemite High School graduate, Jennifer Kurtley at last Wednesday night’s Sober Grad party.

Jennifer picked up the car on Thursday at the Michael Kia dealership in Fresno.

The car was donated by Matt and Molly Shelton.

They were at the presentation with Molly’s sister, Rachel Nelson, who is also a 2002 YHS graduate. The car was on display at the graduation by Lori Ralston DaySpa.

“Jennifer was overwhelmed, to say the least, at winning this prize,” says her mother, Sue Kurtley.

“She could hardly believe it and had a hard time convincing us, after waking our family up at 4:30 a.m. on the morning after graduation. She could hardly speak, but was able to hand the phone to Linda (Heinbach, Sober Grad coordinator) to confirm that she won.”

Jennifer, a National Honor Society graduate and full International Baccalaureate student, will be attending University of California, Santa Cruz, this fall.
