New officers for Yosemite FFA

Yosemite High School Future Farmers of America officers for the coming school year are Heather Plum, sentinel; Hollie Shreve, reporter; Ashley Vetter, secretary; Leah Larson, president; Kim Youman, vice president; Jake VanMeter, treasurer; Steve Ecklund, advisor.

 

BASS LAKE — The Yosemite High School Future Farmers of America held its awards banquet at Bass Lake recently.

Officers for the coming school year were installed, also. The candidates had to complete an application and go through an interview to be considered.

 

The new officers are: Leah Larson, president; Kim Youman, vice president; Ashley Vetter, secretary; Jake VanMeter, treasurer; Hollie Shreve, reporter; and Heather Plum, sentinel.

 

The featured guest for the evening was Julie Kondoff, 2000-2001 state FFA reporter.

 

Additionally, the following awards were given to members:

Chapter scholarship — Ashley Vetter, Heather Plum, Chad Boberg and Jennifer Fox.

Ag mechanics — Casey Over­acker.

Agricultural science — Rachael Plumlee

Landscape management — Amy Rhorig

Equine science — Katie Bushman and Jennifer Fox

Home improvement — Dustin Seib

H.O. Sergeant — Jessica Chard and Heather Norman.

Diversified livestock — Kim Youman

Beef production — Amie Miles

Poultry production — Chad Boberg and Derek Bogardous

Swine production — Leah Larson

Public speaking — Kim Youman and Leah Larson

Creed speaking — Kaley and Karey Franklin

Dekalb award — Mark Stephens

Extemporaneous speaking — Katie Hackworth, David Sischo, Jessica Chard, Chase Caywood.

Star Greenhand award — Hollie Streve

Star chapter award — Leah Larson

Farm Bureau award — Mark Stephens
