Chance to win attendance prizes
Students
who attend school on a regular basis consistently do better in their class work
and now, at Yosemite High School, they will have an opportunity to be rewarded
for perfect attendance on a monthly basis.
“This year
at Yosemite High School we would like to salute those students who give
themselves the greatest opportunity to soar scholastically,” says YHS Assistant
Principal Randy Haggard.
Mr.
Haggard and members of an Attendance Incentive Committee are soliciting
donations from the community for the program.
Students
with perfect attendance in any given month will receive 10 tickets — five for
the monthly drawing and five for a drawing at the end of the year.
The
monthly drawing will reward students for that month only; the annual drawing
will be from the accumulated tickets students have deposited each month and
will be for a larger prize.
Mr.
Haggard says the YHS administrators decided to start this program “in order to
provide other than negative consequences for poor attendance and truancy. This
plan will provide specific rewards which students will see as an attraction to
improve attendance.”

would like to make a contribution toward this Attendance Incentive Plan, or who
would like more information, can contact Mr. Haggard at 683-4667.
