4 Adult Ed computer classes set

 

Four computer classes will be offered through Yosemite Adult Education beginning in Novem­ber.

Pre-registration is recommended; call 683-8801 extension 303. Office hours are Monday and Wednesday, 6-9 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 1-4 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Three of the classes will be held at Yosemite High School and one at Foothill High School which is located on Yosemite Springs Parkway in Yosemite Lakes Park..

The Foothill class, Beginning Windows, will be held Novem­ber 6 and 13 from 6-9 p.m.; cost is $15. This two-day seminar will teach the beginning student how to use Windows 98.

The following classes will be held at Yosemite High School:

Using Quick Books Profes­sional starts Monday, November 5, and continues through Decem­ber 10 from 6-9 p.m. in Computer Lab 31; cost is $30.

Quick Books Pro is an accounting software package designed to run small to medium size companies.

During this five-week class, students will learn to set up a company, process payroll, pay quarterly taxes, pay vendors, write journal entries and use the report writer to generate various financial reports.

Advanced Digital Photog­raphy, Photoshop 6.0, starts Tuesday, November 20, and continues through December 18 from 6-9 p.m. in the Distance Learning lab; cost is $30. A basic knowledge of Photoshop is required. This five-week course will teach setting up monitors for color management, producing and printing consistent color, optimizing images for the web, creating web graphics using slices and rollovers and creating animated images for the web.

Advanced Internet starts November 27 and continues through December 4 from 6-9 p.m. in Computer Lab 32; cost is $15. This class takes the student beyond the browser and teaches them how to make Telnet, FTP and other software work.
