is an exciting time of year for kids, parents and teachers! Here are
some tips to help your child be successful this year.
The key to a successful morning is the night before.
Fill the book bag.
Lay clothes out-with shoes.
If the kids plan to buy lunch or even just milk, organize envelopes
with the correct amount of money for each child and pay in advance
if possible to help their day go smoother.
If you’re packing, get lunch ready.
Start daily routines that will add to continuity. Let your child
become involved with packing lunch or laying out clothes. Also,
begin an earlier bedtime to help your child be alert and ready to
learn.
Add a note of encouragement to your child’s lunch. A note from mom
or dad is a great surprise at school.
Be out the door - on time!
Be enthusiastic about the start of school. If you are excited and
confident, your child will be, too.
At the end of the work day, put aside your concerns and focus on
being a parent. Put aside some time to talk with your child about
their day and communicate with your child’s teacher so that your
child knows that you are all working together for success.
